“We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted
by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
– I Thessalonians 1:3
Christ Church believes that all believers are ministers of the Gospel, whatever their age or life condition. We celebrate the gifts of the Spirit poured out onto individuals and the community as a whole, and seek to match people to ministries for which they are gifted. Thanks to the generosity and ministry of gifted members of the community, we box far beyond our weight in terms the extent of our programs and impact on the surrounding community. You are welcome to learn more about how to get involved in what God is doing in and through this congregation – here are some of the ways to jump in:
Altar Guild cares for the various material items that make worship happen, including setting up the altar for
each service.
Eucharistic Ministers assist the clergy in leading worship, usually by serving as crucifers and acolytes, leading the prayers of the people and helping distribute communion.
Flower Guild arranges flowers for Sunday services and special occasions, and oversees decorating the church for holidays.
Good Shepherds – This group plans and produces activities and special events. All who attend Christ Church are invited to participate – there is a meeting after church the first Sunday of each month.
Hospitality Hosts make people feel welcome at Christ Church Wayside by greeting folks, giving them
the materials they need for the service, making sure visitors get the information they need about the congregation, and set out refreshments for “coffee hours” after worship.
